Maybe it is the fact that I think I am a guy. Do not get me wrong I do not think guys with long hair are girls XD

Haha maybe is the fact that guys with long hair are non conformist. Here, you have to have a neat hair cut to be told that you look good and you look professional. For me that is so shallow looking at the other appearance of a person and judge him with that for the first impression.
Or it could be the other fact that I like the Victorian age, the gowns the mystery and the feeling of dying just to have that corset fit.

Little Tokyo Makati: Sunday Fiesta

As I have stated in this blog

I went to Little Tokyo for the Sunday Fiesta. I wanted to see how events are held there and I wanted to eat Okonomiyaki from one of the restaurants there. The poster said the event was between 4 to 10pm. So I meet with my partner by 4pm, but I was still super early XD So we went around the two Japanese groceries with the area, Choto Stop and Yamasaki Grocery. I bought a few items from both shops.

Everything started at 6 pm and another friend with two of her friends joined us. We stayed near Oishinbo and ordered dinner as  Kagura, is the only place within Little Tokyo, that has Okonomiyaki (Do correct me if I am wrong) opened pass 6pm and all their tables has been reserved. However, we were able to order from them which was fine coz I just really want to have okonomiyaki XD

The first event was the Nagashi Somen (Flowing Noddles), I wanted to join this but I remembered we ordered okonomiyaki, I knew I cannot handle to much Japanese food so I passed. It was fun to watch though, for php 30 you have the chance to catch cold flowing noodles for three minutes. I have a short video of it. In the background you have Mr. Yu Miyoshi playing the koto. The Event was hosted by Aisaku and AK. We stayed until the end of the hot Chawanmushi speed eating contest.

Oh!!! After years of looking for it I finally got to taste Wasabi Ice Cream from Dojo Dairy. We bought the 4 oz cup for Php 120 and shared our friends. I was like vanilla ice cream with a spicy after taste!

We did not finish the event as I needed to be home early and for consideration was there were a lot of people waiting to be sited. I had great fun and It is wrong to be greedy.

Child of Paradox and Possibilities

Comic Recommendation: Trese

 Monsters, dwarfs, animorphs and even Filipino gods and deities, what if there are the ones in charge of the underground market or if they are the one who is behind simple crimes? Do you think the police can handle them?

This is where Trese comes in.

Full name Alexandra Trese, is the daughter of Anton Trese. This is her story, fighting characters that are part of Philippine folklores and deal with things the police cannot handle. She has two bodyguards and they are twins, she owns Diabolical, a bar were normal people and the supernatural can socialize as long as they do not harm the normal people they are welcome to stay.

Created by Sir Budjette Tan and illustrated by Kajo Baldisimo. It was published December 2005 and is ongoing, it now has five books, each book having four or five stories as per book 3. There is another book called Stories from Diabolical, it is basically a collection of short stories and illustrations. Plus the compilation book titled, book of murders which a hard bound book of the first 3 books.

How did I discover the book? Around 2012, I have seen it a number of time in National Bookstore, but I am the type that browse before I buy a book and most of the time the book was sealed. Until I was at one book fair my friend told me the book was available at a discounted price. So I bought the first two books, luckily the artist, Sir Kajo Baldisimo was in the said fair, promoting another book,  Manila Noir (I will be buying that one soon), he was nice enough to sign my copy even though it was under a different publisher.

Why you should read Trese?

·        

If you are Filipino, it gives a new light to the folklore of our country and it makes learn new things about the characters and gods of Filipino mythology

·         If you are a foreigner, it help you understand a few of the traditions and superstitions of Filipinos 

·         Though it changes the names of the malls and brands, it is the only book I know that features locations in the country (or maybe I’m not reading other books much)

·         I think anyone who is into comics should have a copy of this books

Confessions of a Japanholic

I am not really sure why there are a lot of Japanese related event this month but basically I’m torn by it today there is an ongoing free film screening in Shangri-la Plaza EDSA, Mandaluyong called 2014 Nihongo FiestaFilm Mania.

As you can see it is for two days but I wanted to go today, I wanted to watch Howl’s Moving Castle in the big screen. However, It is now late and I decided to pass for the event tomorrow at a place called Little Tokyo called Sunday Fiesta. Little Tokyo is a small area with I think six plus restaurants all serving Japanese food and they are surrounded by Japanese Groceries. Have you heard of this place?

I have been there for number of occasion but tomorrow will be the first time that there will be an actual event organized by the people of Little Tokyo so I am excited about it.

Deciding factor for not going out today is that I have watched Howl’s Moving Castle at home and I still have the copy I can watch it anytime so yah.

Renewing My Skin - Skin Care Products from Yukim Online Shop

So I decided to try and take care of my skin better, so I bought a few skin care products from Yukim Shop own by my friend. She has been using the same products and I have notice the difference in her skin, so I wanted to try it.

Today mark the 7th day I have been using the product, which include a soap of your choice from Acne Bleaching, Gluta-Kojic, Triple whitening or gluta-collagen, a 60ml rejuvenating toner, bleaching cream 4in1 and sun block cream, 10g each. Oh there is a free small bottle of body scrub. Did I mention it is all for 300 Php?

I have gluta-collagen for my soap, after washing my face and neck with it. It felt like my skin is being stretched, like it has gone through face lift. It felt like that for 2 days and on the third day, I was surprised by the sting I felt when I washed my face, so this was the sign the my face will be going to the peeling stage and it is still in that stage till today. Along with washing one’s face twice a day (morning and night) you have to use the rejuvenating toner in the same manner and the bleaching cream is to be use only at night. The sun block is for protection if you are going out. Apply 30 minutes before going out and every 2 hours thereafter.

What are the changes I see, my face is peeling and itching well it is because of the peeling. Luckily, my face is not too red due to the peeling. I have notice that my face is not that shiny, shine after all equates to oil. That is about it after all I have to continue with the set for about a month, so maybe two weeks from now I will be posting another blog about this.

I got my pair from a friend, she owns Mini Eclaire Shop. I have been using it for some time now. I like the fact that it is very vivid yet natural. It makes my eyes a bit bigger but it still looks normal and not to doll like after all it is just 15mm in diameter. I have the Miyuki Turquoise, because it looks blue and sometimes green. I notice a halo effect on my eyes some times.

It is known to be a type of soft lens, I have tried a contact lens before that felt really plastic, it felt like I have something in my eyes, something that is not suppose to be there. So I am glad that soft lenses were invented XD

Reminders, make sure you are allow to wear contact lens ask your optician. I have bought my pair from shop of a friend, I bought it there as for contact lenses I only use the plano or it does not have grade as I use it for cosplay purposes only or random vanity day.

Fashion vs Style

Let us start with defining the two words

Fashion
A popular trend, especially in styles of dress and ornament or manners of behavior.

Style
A distinctive appearance, typically determined by the principles according to which something is designed.

Both definition were lifted from google

Why did I define the two terms? For me to point out that they are not the same, they can be synonymous but not interchangeable for me. Fashion is general and Style is fashion with a personal touch. Take this black dress as a sample.

Let us say that this black lace dress in the new in fashion. It means it is trendy. However not all that is trendy looks good on people. That is where style comes in. Now look at this modified photo (sorry about the bad photoshoping)

By adding a few items it have become my style, yes I like Gothic things. This is my style and I know if I have these items with me I will look good in it. I has become unique to me, as against if I just were the black dress.

I sure you have your own style one that will always make you look good unlike fashion that only looks good on a select few

I'm happy to be Caged

Weeeee wait I’m happy and I’m late in tell you that!!!

Last Feb 15 this Dork (yes that’s dork is me) got a gift from her partner. A necklace with a caged pearl as pendant and the box looked like this

If you notice there is an easy open can that is part of this package, it holds the clam, yes you read right, there is a clam that comes with this gift

You have to cut open the clam to get the pearl to be placed in the cage pendant. The pearl's color is unknown until you open the clam it has five possible color which signifies something good

Cream - happiness

Peach - love

Lavender - wisdom

Gold - wealth

When I open the clam this is what it looked like. I'm not really sure of the color but I think it’s between Peach and Lavender. Perfect it’s two in one. It’s a very nice gift I love it. I wish I can wear it every day but I’m acidic it will tarnish in no time so yah. I’m just happy so I’m sharing it ^_^

Nostalgia Bombs

Black and white and sepia colored photos. Photos that are in these color mode makes you feel like you are looking at an old photo depicting the past or of what use to be. However, with the advancement of technology most cameras have this color mode.

I have been in love with taking photos and these color modes are perfect if you are trying to take photos and trying to incorporate a story into the photo. It also gives an effect that the photo has been taken ages ago.


I got into the black and white or sepia modes when I was sad about something. Thus these following photos were the outcome.


Let us start, Sepia toning is a specialized treatment to give a black-and-white photographic print a warmer tone and to enhance its archival qualities from Wikipedia.

These photos were taken at a time that I was single and basically, I was feeling sad as a relationship I cared for just disappeared without a trace. The items in the box are things I kept from two guys I have loved. The photos were taken 2007.

Saturday= Fireworks and Chocolates

I belong to an anime and manga loving group called Philippine Otaku Society. Three or four years ago, we started celebrating Valentines’ day in each other’s company. It did not matter if some of us have partners. We have adopted the Japanese tradition for this day, in which the girls are the one that gives the boys chocolate.

I will be sharing a few tips to avoid getting annoyed by the crowd

• Set a call or meet up time
• Set a meet up location
• If you have plans of watching something be at the venue early for a good viewing or sitting location
• Bring potluck if allowed
• Water is life (hahaha)

This year we got tickets for the first day of the 5th PryoMusical Competition.

While waiting for the others we decided to go to Chocolat for cake. This is my partner's favorite cake shop. We had cake and ice tea

We did a little shopping at the supermarket because I did not have chocolates to give out and I need to buy water and food

At the venue, boys got their chocolates a few of the girls gave the other girls chocolate too; I was all fun after all it has been a while since I got to see these lovely people. Oh! I was with my sister it was fun having to do things you like with the people you love. There was a scary situation where I thought someone took money from my coin purse (I suck at watching how I spend my money when I am happy).

Friday the 14th

This day can be lucky or unlucky. Lucky if you have loved ones to share it with, unlucky if you just broke up or has been single since birth.

This post is not meant to make you feel back if you have this day. I just here to tell you that this day is ordinary. There is nothing special about this day, the only fact about this day is that people are following the tradition of being sweet on this day, giving flowers, chocolate or going out on date. The things I have said that has to be done on this day, I sure you are aware that you can do it anytime of the year, so with limit all the love you have for somebody or everybody to just one day?

It may sound cliché but I really think Valentine’s Day should be all year round; after all you do spend it every day with the people you love

Photo Memoirs: At the end of the day

I have always wanted to keep a scrap book of my memories. However, it is too much work. So, I decide to do something simple. So I took photos of things and places that has great significance to me and added stick figures to it (because I cannot draw) show why... plus a short caption

Today, I will be sharing one of them. I call it “At the end of the day”

I love the sunset and I love taking photos of it. I love it more when I have people with me. It is nice to end the day with people you love. The photo you see was taken at a local mall that has the sea behind it. Me and my partner hangs around for the sunset especially if the sky is clear. This place we have shared with friends does making it even more special.

For some, sunsets signifies the end of life or darkness. Call me weird but sunset gives way to the moon and it has the same use, it gives us light. At the end of the they there will be someone that will always be waiting for you.

Wow, I got something Free

So last week, I got my salary with that all my responsibility came looking for me hehe

So I when to the mall to pay bills, buy toiletries, snack and get a few minutes of something girly (it has something to do with my eye brows)
I spend a lot of this in the supermarket telling myself

“No you do not need that.”

“Put that down you can only spend this much here”

Yes I talk to myself; yes I’m a weird kid.

At the cashier as the items go pass the bar code reader I was praying that it will not be over 2000 PHP. Luckily it did not and the girls handling the cash register told me that I have a prize that I can claim at the

I said thanks and went to the booth. The girl stationed at the booth asked for my receipt and stamped on it “Claimed” and handle me this

Turon is thinly sliced Cardaba bananas may or may not have slice of jack fruit, slightly covered with brown sugar, rolled in a spring roll wrapper and fried.
It was a nice surprise, simple because I was hungry.

I have been looking for one for the longest time and during the Noel Bazaar, yes you read right Noel Bazaar so that was December last year (yes this review is long overdue)

I got four shades from a stall named Beauty Kingdom.

I noticed that the dark colors does not glow as much as the lighter ones, they are think and the color are bright that with one coat it looks good and it smells good!

#21 looks like a two toned fabric, it is red with a blue shimmer

#26 is a light shade of purple

#31 is a mix of blue and green and reminds me of the peacock feather

And lastly

#38 it beige with pink shimmer and is pretty tamed in shade you will not get in trouble with this if your work/school does not like obvious nail color.

I planning to look for more, Beauty Kingdom does not seem to have a page where I can order from. I cannot order internationally because that will be a little too much.

Are you a Head Strong Lady?

I don't need help

Is it a turn off if the girl is head strong?

I’m from the Philippines of you did not know. Also if you are not aware we were colonized for 333 years by the Spaniards. I think this as cause the females from here to be submissive, with that in mind I post this question.

Are girls that are head strong a “turn-off” for guys?

If a girl is able to buy the things she want, decide on where or what to eat and basically live on her own means, would guys avoid her? I am aware that not all guys will avoid such a girl after all there are guys I know that pushes gender equality, what a guy can do a girl can do it too.

However, I do get this feeling that sometimes guys are more attracted to girls that acts or is really always in need of help. What made me thinking this way you asked, you see I have a friend that is pretty much in control of her life and she is still single to this day, she as told me that she is fine being single and it is her choice I can help but feel that the reason guys do not approach her is due to the fact the she is in control.

Are guys scared to be control and is being controlled, lessen their Machismo? Okay, you might think that I am being bias but I am not. As I have a guy friend and he made me feel weird after he posted a statement about “Why get married if you are not going to be submissive?” It was in my native language this is the best translation I can give. So yah, I hated the statement after all I think in marriage the couple should be equal… Compromise is important.

I believe that if a girl is head strong is good but when it comes to relationship it should be a balanced between following and going on one’s own way.
Any comment about this? Guys care to talk? It will help me understand you more
