Eiga Sai: Tasteful Japan

It is that time of the year again a chance for people that likes or love Japanese movie to enjoy free screening of 11 movies from July 9 to July 19 This year’s theme is Tasteful Japan, divided to two categories SAVORY JAPAN are the movies about food and JAPANESE CONTEMPORARY FILMS that are live action film based on manga or anime.

I have been following this event since 2010, I have seen a few movies and animated films during the event. The movies for this event always leaves a mark in my mind and heart and to be able to plan to go again this year,  feels good. I just hope that the rain does not stop me from going to the event.

I hope more events like this happen in the country. It is a great way to learn more about Japan and it is great way to meet other people that like or love Japanese culture.

Food Tripping: Wai Ying in Binondo

I am fan of food obviously with the body size XD

So this will be a post about the Chinese cuisine restaurant called Wai Ying. I was introduced to this place around 2010 by our photographer friends after our Vampire knights Cosplay shoot. Last July 14 I got to go back and eat there again. I have been planning to go back but I did not want to go alone so after we checked the location for the Vocaloid photoshoot, we when to Wai Ying.

Welcome to China Town

Located at Benavidez Street in Binondo, Wai Ying is a two-floor restaurant. There are more seats in the second floor as the ground floor is mostly the kitchen area and it’s warm since you are near all the cooking area.

So let’s talk about the food… *damn I feeling hungry again because of this*
What I remember is the first time I was there they ran out of Lemon Chicken rice which is I think their best seller. So now that is what I have ordered.

Lemon Chicken is basically crispy fried chicken with soy lemon sauce

Ate Aya orders Soy Chicken: 

Soy Chicken is steamed chicken in brown sauce
and is accompanied by I think sauteed green onions

Food Tripping: Banzai The Great Teppanyaki Theater Review

Yes this is about food again! So me and my partner when to Banzai: The Great Teppanyaki Theater, I have first read about this place from Hana (a friend’s blog). As you know I’m a self confessed Japan-holic, I just have to go and check it out. The ambiance is great! You walk in and you are greeted by the one of the attendant, then they will show you the art gallery, where you can take photos in costumes. The place feels like its right from Japan.

He is lost in Time

There are a variety for Japanese food served, okonomiyaki, tempura, sushi, sashimi, ramen, takoyaki, miso soup, yakisoba, yakitori, gyoza, Japanese Inspired Pizza, and of course Teppanyaki. It was dessert heaven too. What I like about Banzai, is that it’s huge! You spend a few minutes of walking to get to what you want and I think that helps you digest for more food later XD

Photo Memoirs: At the end of the day

I have always wanted to keep a scrap book of my memories. However, it is too much work. So, I decide to do something simple. So I took photos of things and places that has great significance to me and added stick figures to it (because I cannot draw) show why... plus a short caption

Today, I will be sharing one of them. I call it “At the end of the day”

I love the sunset and I love taking photos of it. I love it more when I have people with me. It is nice to end the day with people you love. The photo you see was taken at a local mall that has the sea behind it. Me and my partner hangs around for the sunset especially if the sky is clear. This place we have shared with friends does making it even more special.

For some, sunsets signifies the end of life or darkness. Call me weird but sunset gives way to the moon and it has the same use, it gives us light. At the end of the they there will be someone that will always be waiting for you.
