Backride Diaries: Windmill Farm Pililla, Rizal

Do you want to see windmills with our going to Ilocos? Now you can! Located in Pililla, Rizal the Windmill Farm is the place you need! There are a total of 5 windmill farms in the country at the moment, 3 in Ilocos, 1 in Mindoro and this one.

The construction of this area started in 2013 and was complete in 2016. It has 27 windmills that can generate 54MW of wind power per year which can support 66,000 households in the Metro.

Since its opening, it has been reported that 130,000 visitors come per week. It is turning into a proper tourist destination with the Visitors' Center helping people learn more about wind-generated energy and enjoying the view of the sea and the windmills.

Here is a map from the Antipolo Cathedral to the Windmill Farm. I hope you will be able to visit sometime. Plus, it is free!

Shortening the distance: Meeting the Site Leader at Schneider Electric

2018-06-19 21.44.35.jpg

Thursday, September 13, I got to know more about the company and the site leader. The session or meeting was called Shortening the distance. It was the HR's idea on how they can show that Zandro or Z the site leader is approachable and down to earth.

The introductions were short and the main topic is how we can make the office and the work world-class. Z explained that the rules being implemented right now are for people that might be abusing some of the benefits they are getting from the company.

As stated in this post this office is a BPO but does not really follow all the rules there is in a normal BPO office. Z wants a few adjustments to that to be able to get to his vision of being world-class.

The facilities are being upgraded, as it is one of the things he has noticed with other BPO offices. He was to balance it out. If I got this idea correctly, he wants to adopt the good things from both the in-house contact center and a BPO office. Also, he does not mind if you are sleeping in the production area as long as you are on break, it is his way of compensating as we do not have sleeping quarters.

Plans for better facilities and medical benefits are on the way too. To be honest, I think that one hour with the director is great, it really made me feel that I was lucky to finally get to work with this company.

How do you answer the question, "Are we okay?"

I don't really know after all, okay for me is not a state of something. It is not positive nor negative unless you add the tone of your voice to it. You need to factor in as well, how your listener will take it. We are so used to getting okay as a good reply when in fact there will always be more to it.

Take the photo above as a sample, one of them can be asking if the other is okay. The simple answer will be "yes, I'm okay." The question should be "How are you holding up?" or "Do you think we can find something here we can use to stay afloat?" This might be overthinking for other but this is a better question than the one on the title. There is more concern on those question.

What if there are really close to somewhere safe, "Are you okay?" is fine as long as there is a follow up like "can you still swim towards the shore or boat?"

Whatever the situation don't settle for an "I'm okay!" or "We're okay." reply.

Review: The YARD, Centennial Road, Cavite

This is a newly opened food park in Cavite. We went there last Monday, as I did not have work. There are I think around 30 plus stores in it. Giving you and your friends or family options.

This place has you covered from appetizers to dessert. Sherome and I were suppose to meet up with my college friends. The set time was 4pm but they were late. So we when ahead and bought food from Transporkmer.

When the other got there, they order ribs, Shawarma, fries and takoyaki. It was great! To be honest it was kinda pricey but hey you only get to see college friends on such occasions. I got dessert from a store called Ice Cream Lab. It was called death by chocolate.

Staycation: Savoy Hotel, Manila

For the first time in a long while I got to stay in a hotel. This time it's in Manila. Joy and I booked a room at Savoy Hotel. They are located within the Newport City, just across NAIA terminal 3.

It was awesome to have Joy booked this room, she knows what she wants. We got a corner room on a high floor and significantly far from the elevator. To be honest, for the price range for two people, it was worth it. You get to use their pool and gym during your stay too!

The bed were super soft and comfortable, the pillow were the same. The decor of the room was relaxing too! The view was okay. You can see planes arriving and leaving NAIA terminal 3. The people at the hotel were nice, if you need something all you need to do is ask.

The breakfast buffet had excellent choices. I honestly though I would go on a food coma after 2 hours of eating great dishes. I need to go back to try their pool and check what the gym looks like and for an awesome rest day!

Klea enjoyed it too!

Cosplay: Shokugeki no Soma

When was the last time I cosplayed, I don't really remember without looking for the photos. This is the first one this year. So excuse the simple and really lame costume. Skittles the cosplay group of Philippine Otaku Society, went to Best of Anime on the second day as students from Tōtsuki Culinary Academy.

I was Nao Sadatsuka, a second year student and specializes in using foul odored food. She is also known from her moniker, Boiling Witch. Like Soma, she is into  making dishes that are disgusting to taste.

She is also, known to stalk Erina and after that phase she started stalking Hisako. Too bad our group did not have an Erina or Hisako. We do have Soma, Megumi, Ryōko, The Aldini Brothers, Alice, Ryo, Urara, Rindo and Eishi

Me on stalk mode. Hahaha I can't wait for the photo shoot. I need to ready my uniform! Enjoy the rest of the photo. Also by the end of the day, Ryo got lost, but he is safe.

Silventure: Ang Huling El Bimbo the Musical

The last time I was in a theater was in college for my theater class. No, I was not part of the acting cast. I was more of the support as I was an irregular student. So this year was really awesome for the initial run of the musical play "Ang Huling El Bimbo."

This was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Joy and I watched the August 25 Gala show. The play is about a group of friends that grew after because of an incident that happened before the graduation of the 3 main characters.

The humor and the way they have used the lyrics of song created by Eraserheads, was witty and amusing. I did not think that there were so many songs from that iconic bank that I did not know. There was comedy, romance and tragedy.

As the title implies a girl will die for what reason I don't want to say so I won't spoil anyone. All I know is that you need to watch this. It is worth it and relatable for titos and titas like me! Pray that there will be a re-run of this play in the future as the remaining show are already sold out!

It was so memorable to see this play and to see Jon Santos up close. No photos are he was talking to The Rene Salud after the curtain call. I really, we really need more of this. I just hope in the future it will be more accessible to all!

Random words pretending to be a poem: Grow like you

on the other side by bloodyblue

I don't want to grow old.
To be honest I think I have done everything I want to do
Everything people around me told me I should do.
I don't want to live any further.

I don't want to reach the age where people don't want me to be with them
I don't want to be told that I should stay with person A
Then be told by person A that I should stay with person B

I think I have lived long enough to be happy
I have traveled with friends and family
I have even traveled alone.

I have tasted food cooked just for me
I have tasted food that is too expensive for some
I have even tasted food that is worth stars

I think I have done enough for a lifetime
I don't want to go any further
The things I have on my plate is enough

The life I have lived is enough
So please stop asking me to be more
Especially if you chose to not grow
The way you are asking me to.

5 Famous Japanese songs from the 90's

The 90's was my time! This was the time I discovered Sailormoon on ABC5, now TV5. Those were the days! I miss it a lot. Things were a lot more simple then, yap I'm that old. So with that Let me talk about the 5 songs that opened that doors for me to love J-music!

1. Sweet Soul Revue by Pizzicato Five

I don't remember much on how this became popular in the 90's. I do know that it was a dance craze before. It was played on local radio stations at that time. Since the net did not really exist at that time. Most people will sing to it even if the words did not make sense.

I wanted to play this song all day, so I tried to get the album in cassette form as CD's were expensive for the elementary student me. Which brings us to the next song:

2. Feel Like Dance by Globe

Malls were still scarce at that time. That if you want to visit one, you will need to go to SM Makati or Landmark. I don't remember everything well but I know we were at Landmark to but school supplies. Lucky the record store/area was close. I was looking for the album of Pizzicato Five, however, the saleslady did not know what it was and I did not know the title of the song at that time.

She presented Globe's self-titled album, she said it is the one Japanese album they have. For them, I have loved the band so much! I think this was also played on local radio stations.

3. Automatic by Utada Hikaru

How did I learn about this song? MTV, I think but it was played late at night so it did not get the popularity it needed for Hikki to be known as a household name in the Philippines. I don't even remember how I got her album. I love her to this day. Her lyrics are just so relatable.

4. Hohoemi no Bakudan by Matsuko Mawatari

Is known in the Philippines as the opening song of Ghost Fighter or Yu Yu Hakusho. It is that danceable song that made kids run to the TV set as they knew it was time to watch Eugene and the gang on another adventure.

5. Zankoku na Tenshi no Tēze by Yoko Takahashi

This is from the series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. If you have watched it on ABS-CBN, you need to watch the series again as there were so many scenes that were cut for it to be aired on local TV. It's one of the most mind-boggling anime I have ever watched. For me, it is the closest to real life well minus the angels and technology.

If you are wondering why Sailormoon's and Magic Knight Rayearth's opening songs were not included, if it because it was sung in Tagalog.

I'm drowning

There is so much to do all of a sudden, and so much to pay...

I think I have a new job starting soon. But there are requirements that might put it on hold. Like the background check, apparently, the school may no talk to the third-party background checker if they do not provide the right papers like the complete TOR and diploma. I don't have those with me as I still have a balance to settle.

Now, with all these things plus the jitters of a new task and the already crazy status of my life. I seriously feel like I'm drowning. Before writing about this things makes me feel better but right now, nothing. Nothing is making sense and it is not helping. I really just feel lost at sea and I'm about to accept that I will be going soon.

How can people stay afloat in this mess? Is this depression?

Do you agree with the text on the photo?

steem.png

I do!

I don't like the idea that the more child you have the richer you are. As it may be true with some families but it will still depend on how well you teach them about life. They are your investment but not in a monetary aspect as they will carry your genes for as long as they live and they can pass it on. The time you had spent with them may well be the time they will spend with you in the future.

I believe that if you teach kids the necessary skills to succeed they will be for every grateful. Don't force them to the future you want to have. Instead, show them that with what they have now they can be great in the future. In this way, they can grow knowing that without you they could have done something else that can break the great future they have.

They are your fruit it is your responsibility to let them grow and you need to protect them. It is like taking care of a tree you let it grow and bear fruit but don't ever think that it will always be there without the proper care.

Silventures: National Museum of Natural History

The National Museum for Natural History opened last May 18, 2018. It has been almost 2 months now since it open and I finally got to visit it.

What can you see inside? Most are displays of animals found in the Philippines. You can also find the bones of the largest saltwater crocodile that lived in the Philippines.

The galleries are themed according to the environment or a group of animals. Mangroves, rainforest and beaches.

I did not know we had a deer in the Ph
There is a room dedicated for the Naturalist, people of science that helped us learn more things about nature and the creatures living in it.

At the center of the building is the "Tree of Life" which is suppose to look like DNA or the building block of life, does the name. However, the center does not look like DNA. To be honest it looks like a big coil that can generate electricity to me.

He is wondering about the name too.
Read the captions... I think they are funny:

"Ate kunan mo nga ako ng pic!"

"ano ba naman tong shared Airbnb na to ang daming ng rent"

"Parang hang out lang daw yun trabaho. Literal pala yun hang"

"Buti pa si Lolong hindi na iiwan mag isa"

"Mas na kakatawa kaya yun mukha mo!"

"Hu! Nakakagulat ka!"

When in Baguio!

Jollibee will welcome you! So, last weekend I was with my partner and his family in Baguio! This is the first time I'm on an out of town trip with relatives of my partner. This is one heck of a step for me. To be honest, I was dead scared to go, then I remembered that I wanted to go to Baguio with him. I was not there the first time he visited. I just want to be there with him, enjoying the cold weather.
One of the views along Marcos Highway
First stop, Lion's head in Kennon Road. After the landslide in the area June, a part of it was closed. You can only visit this spot when you get to Baguio via Marcos Highway and travel for about an hour to get to it. The place was empty, this was my second time here and I was surprised that we were the ones there.

That is why I have this awesome photo!
We stayed in this awesome transient house located in Middle Rock Quarry. The owner of the place was nice. The house was warm and comfortable. Just a bit old, there are rooms under the living room so you can hear footsteps. The house was really close to two tourist spots.

Check out our pad for 3 days!

Strawberry Taho in the morning is great!
Our house was just 10 minutes away from Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto and from the Grotto it was only 15 minutes to the Old Diplomat Hotel. It will feel like a lot longer as the roads are going up.

Yap! That's Sherome there!

We stayed in Baguio for 3 days and it was just great except for the occasional rain in the afternoon. We also visited Mines' View Park, The Mansion, Wright Park, The Botanical Garden and Burnham Park during day two! Before going home we visited the Strawberry farm and the Bell Church!
