Silventure Guide: What to do in Bacolod

What can we do in Bacolod?

There are a lot of things to do in an around Bacolod City. Religious sites, museums, cafes, and resorts. What I have in this post are basically the things that I have done while staying in Bacolod. If there are other things to do there that you can share with me, please do!

As stated in my main Bacolod post, I forgot that it was a holiday Monday. So what we had initially plan failed. So, we went to places that we know is will not close even if it is a holiday. The San Sebastian Cathedral, Pope John Paul II Tower and The Ruins.

Completed in 20 January 1882. San Sebastian Cathedral is the the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bacolod. Located in Rizal Street, right across the Bacolod Public Plaza. When we got there was a wedding. So, we check the place really quickly, lit candles and visited the adoration chapel.

From the catheral, we walked towards the Pope John Paul II Tower. This tower was build on the site where he delivered a message on February 20, 1981. I took two years to build this tower and was inaugurated in Feb. 18, 2010. Entrance fee is Php 20 and Php 10 if you are a student. While going up you can read about the life of Pope John Paul and enjoy the view of the ocean.

There is nothing much to do there so we moved on to The Ruins in Talisay City
