MRO C/S and HPG4A FMI Cavite: Operation Kalusugan

Yesterday I was with MRO C/S and HPG4A FMI Cavite in Bus City, Molino Cavite. They had coordinated with the Bethany Baptist Church and staged a feeding program for the families staying in Bus City.
If you do not know where Busy City is… here is the map:

It's pretty close to SM Molino
Do you see the buses?

I arrived while they were playing parlor games. Break time came soon after which of course was the time to fill our bellies after sweating it out under the sun. They do say that the best way to bond with a group is eating together; BOODLE FIGHT STYLE! The group is compose of people from different ways of life and location but they came together so share what they have with the families of Bus City. They had cooked Lugaw in the morning and Champorado for the afternoon snack and packed clothes that by the end of the program were awarded to the families. There was a bit of Bible sharing as well from Brother MJ from Bethany Baptist Church.

As I was late and I really did not do much I was not able to even help with the cooking and such. I just observed what the group was doing, seeing how the children run around and talk to the people of MRO C/S and HPG4A FMI Cavite, you know that they have done something good. The smiles and how comfortable the children are with the group, shows that this simple act of kindness goes a long way. Some of the kids, call members by their name and I remember one of the kids asking me Babalik kayo bukas diba? You are coming back tomorrow, right? This was the first time that they have done this, and for me it was successful and they have touched the lives of these people.

This was one fun day, I will try to know if there are more projects like this in the future so I can do my share and maybe I can find people that want to help too. If you want to know more about MRO Cavite/South  please visit their Facebook Group Page

Dress Code: why is there a difference?

I like dressing up if possible I will do it all the time, but my fashion sense is not really for the everyday look. Society has set rules about it, and you know why it’s hard to follow? It’s because of the unspoken.

Unspoken rules are behavioral constraints imposed in organizations or societies that are not voiced or written down.
~ Wikipedia

Let’s say that you are going for job interview for an office you need to be in corporate attire. A skirt or slacks with blouse or polo. I get that you have to be presentable as a first impression but will it not be easier for the interviewer to see you when you are comfortable and yourself during the interview, than be surprised after hiring you that you that you have an attitude that was covered up by the clothes you were wearing?

Dressing up is not that bad for me, I know I should as after all people are attracted to physical appearance first. However, I’m sure that most people would want to be accepted for who they are and for the possible contribution he/she can give. Also, this may not be for everyone but I do feel more productive if I’m in the clothes that I like, which most of the time Jeans and shirts.

Yes you might think that I’m just making an excuse for all the time I have failed an interview maybe it was not the clothes, maybe it was really who I was and what I want to work on. I just want to point something out. I how this make sense in a way still, thanks for reading this. Have a good day!

Food Tripping: Vikings Mall of Asia

Rice area

I love the fact that you can have a table reserve for you without making any payment. You can call them or message the Facebook page of the branch that you intent visit. You will get a confirmation that your reservation has been noted, you can even add more people to the reservation if need the same means.

I got there around 11:10 am. There are two lines once you get there, one is for the people with reservation and the other is for the ones that just walked in. I got in by 11:15 and waited for my family to come.  At the table, I was asked if there was anyone from my group that is celebrating their birthday, I told them that it was my birthday then they asked for my id I did not tell them that we were there for the Graduation promo was well as I was not sure I have enough of the people count. To be able to get a 2 people free, I need one person to be with me for the birthday promo and 3 people with my brother for the graduation promo.  By 12 noon, they finally got there, it was my brother and sister first, and then Sherome arrived, my Parents were late.

So let’s move one with the service and the food

As it was my birthday, I got a cake and a bday song it was funny I do not like being sang to but I was their job but I did enjoy it a bit and as my friend said at least it is really your birthday. The food was good; I liked the ambience of the place but only when there were less people. So unlike Banzai that serves Teppanyaki and Japanese food, Vikings caters to a number of cuisines, from Chinese, American, Indian, Japanese.

Even on a weekday it was packed. It felt a bit crowded but fun nonetheless. I liked the dessert area, the blueberry juice, hakaw, there was Green Tea Ice Cream but I did not get to taste it XD. May siblings enjoyed the hotpot. While Papa and Mama found the Lechon.

There was something that made me feel off about a particular Manager… not sure if she was one but she did look like she held a higher post based on what she is wearing. She approached our table and asked if there was anyone who was sitting on the two empty seats. I said yes and then I also added that we were to take advantage of the Graduation Promo as my brother did just graduated 2 weeks before. I have all the information in my head. We need to be 6 in a group so that I and my brother can have free buffet lunch. As it was on the day of my birthday, I need to bring at least one paying adult and for the Graduation promo it as to be 3:1 or 3 paying adult to one graduate.

That was when she told me that the Graduation promo was 4:1. That surprised me as my info was from their message in Facebook. So I just said that from what I know it is 3:1 and told her that I got my info from the Official FB page. She said she will check it, but she did ask for my brother’s id and graduation program and she walked away. So yes that scene left a bad taste in my mouth.

Overall I still loved that day and I will do it again but maybe in another eat all you can place
