DIY: Galaxy Shoes!

All you need are some markers, alcohol, and white acrylic paint or correction pen (this was the one I used.) Glitter glue works too!
We got your shoes from a local department store. It was priced at 2 for 499. The brand was called Kicks, but I can't seem to find more info online. Here is what it looked like before we colored it. (I just got the photo online. I lost the raw photos, my phone died.)

The instructions in the video were easy to follow, you don't have to be an artist to create the design on your shoes. You can color the shoes using permanent markers, highlighters or normal coloring pens. It is best to have black, blue, pink, yellow, gray and purple ready. How you color the shoe matters, but you must not color block. Spaces are needed for the design to look like you have a few galaxies on your feet.
Once you are happy with your base color, you can start using rubbing alcohol to spread the colors! You can still add more colors if you want too. Let it dry before adding the "stars."
Here is our finish product:

Marshal Duties: Animax Carnival 2015

It has been two years since I have joined an event as a volunteer. It was a blast even if we had to stay at the entrance. It was nice to see that the venue was not crowed with cosplayers that do not really go in to the event proper. I have heard that if you are going to cosplay, you need to have a ticket for the event to be able to enter the mall or convention center where the event is being held.

On to the Marshal duties, as always we are the guardians of the gate, the front liners. We take your ticket take the half, stamp you and give you freebies. We are the ones that will greet you at the re entry door making sure that you are one of the people that we have greeted and stamped. ^_^

It was a great event in Hall 4, for 200 Php you can join the activities, check out the booths from sponsors and exhibitors. If you were there and you have tried the game and visited the booths, I’m sure that you got your 200 Php with the prizes that you got.

I think the other marshals are pretty much wondering why we still have the energy even after the event. It’s simple it was fun. It was fun working with the same people again, the same rowdiness and noisy. We had a few down times like with the food and that “Last Minute Media” on the first day but Day two was smooth as ever even if we had 2941 visitors it was I think 300++ more than day one. I was the one handling the clicker, I really wanted to get to 3000 but still 2941 was a good number.

If you were not there what did you miss?

1. Chance to see Alodia sing and dance
2. Glaiza De Castro judging the individual cosplay
3. The cosplay competitions both individual and group
4. Oo-Kun dancing
5. Junior New Systems’ live performance
6. Japanese guess like Gonzo and Triqstar;
7. Miss Nikki Veron Cruz entering this event
8. Lastly, you miss to see us bwhahha Just kidding

Thanks for reading this. Let me know how was your #ACPH experience.

Biennial Themed Shoot

Finally after 2 years we are able to have another group photoshoot. The deal before was to have one themed photoshoot every year, nonetheless I’m happy that we can do this once in a while. The first time we did something like this was November 2011, it was the time when Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Was pretty popular one of the founders of our group has growth to love Tsuna. I think I have a blog about that shoot be the site where I posted it is now gone (RIP Multiply.com). At that time we were 18 members plus the 3 photographers.

Here are some photos:

The next was the Kinomo shoot, done April 2013; I think we gave our photographer, Sir Kiko a headache. One is to 22 people with limited time; I think is enough to do that. We managed and the photos are awesome, I guess that is what you get if you are with a group that works together well.

Some of the photos are use as the profile and cover photo of the group's cosplay group page

This year theme was Gothic Tea Party. The attendance for this shoot was smaller than the previous shoots nonetheless it was still as blast. Anything dark and elegant with a bit of attitude, this was what the shoot is with lots of sweets. We did not have one of our photographer friends with us, so this is the first time that this is all POS

Let me take this time to that the people behind this group. That you, you have helped me see more and be more open to others, be more comfortable with myself. I know at some point I will be judged for the things I have said and done, some of the member, might or is judging me but that is okay; it is helping me grow. Thank you for letting me be a part of this group. I may get lost but you know you can call on me and me on you.

Food at Moities Forever

Well we all know that sometimes big events like this may be delayed. Don’t worry I did not lose weight while waiting haha. This by far is the most posh wedding I have ever been too. During the wait there were waiters serving torones (sorry not sure what they were) with I think mayo stuffing topped with caviar and others were serving drinks.

Here is the reception area when we arrived

After the ceremony, there was a bit of free time again. The god parents table had name cards that was I think hand written by Sir Pao. Here is a photo.

Again wine was served and chips with the same mayo like share with caviar. See how Mama Sarah enjoys the view and the wine

It was the most luxurious dinner I have ever had here is the menu for that night

It was a six course dinner
Here are the list of beverages you can request for
Excuse the photos I did not have my camera

table setting

finger food on the table
Budino of Parmigiano-Reggiano Shard
The dish above was serve as soon as people started sitting down on their table, I wanted to eat it as soon as it was serve but I did not know if I can so I wait for the others to start. It turned out that there was still more to this dish the soup

Watercress, Balsamico Sciroppo
Sorry if it does not look good, yes I know I have ruined the presentation by eating the shard ahead, but I like it that way the cheese was good (yes that is bias as I love cheese). This was paired with Santa Rosa Chardonnay, Mendoza, Argentina, 2011

Field Greens, Baby Rucola, Rmaine, Strawberry, Edible flowers with Organic Duck
 and drizzle with Citrus Vinaigette
Paired with Otoñal Rose "Grupo Olarra", Spain 2012 was a great contrast for the citrusnesso of the Vinaigette. I never knew that flower will be nice as part of the salad it added a wonderful shade to the greens

Spinach Raviolo, Mushroom Trifolati in Truffle cream topped with Prosciutto
This was my favorite, It was paired with Santa Rosa Chardonnay, Mendoza, Argentina, 2011. I'm a sucker for any cream based dish. This dish made me want another serving but of course that was not allowed. I'm not a foodie, I just love to eat and I will definite want to have this again.

Lemon-Basil Sgroppino
Sgroppino means Italian Cocktail, I liked this one as well. All thought this was a Cocktail I do not think that this had any alcohol in it. It was very refreshing to drink

Grilled US Rib Eye, Quinoa Pearl Bed Porcini Au Jus with Zucchine Fritters and Ginger Perfume
Steak was the main course, I'm not sure it it was done or medium rare as the inside was quite raw. I liked it. It was very tender and easy to cut. Now last and everyone's favorite part... Dessert

Almond-Crusted Mille-Feuille with Sweeet Strawberry Mascarpone Foam
on the side was Poached Strawberry, pears and Red Grape, Choco lava
Dessert was heaven with that Up Dharma Down started the party. Note to self If I do get married make sure to serve the alchol before telling people that they will give a toast from me and my husband. Bwahahaha

Food Tripping: Wrong Ramen and Farmacy

Ramen and Ice Cream Saturday

Yes we know this is a weird combination. Haha

So last Saturday, me with a few friend when to Wrong Ramen in Burgos Circle. So Why that name?

Read what ramen is:

“Ramen (/ˈrɑːmən/) (ラーメン rāmen?, IPA: [ɽäꜜːmeɴ]) is a Japanese noodle soup dish. It consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat- or (occasionally) fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and uses toppings such as sliced pork (チャーシュー chāshū?), dried seaweed (海苔 nori?), kamaboko, and green onions. Nearly every region in Japan has its own variation of ramen, from the tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen of Kyushu to the miso ramen of Hokkaido. “
~ Wikipedia

Here is the menu:

The menu is pretty simple and not a lot to choice from with is good for me

We ordered the following:

Chashu Rice Roll (125 php) is shredded pork rolled with veggies and wrapped using rice paper, which you can dip in ponzu sauce. It’s very light and it is nice to share with friends.

Naruki anf her FU ramen

Their best selling ramen is the FU Ramen (425 php), no I’m not cursing that ramen, but it is all wrong. It has bacon, spam, egg and cheese with the noodles in a pepper and garlic broth. As the menu say is “breakfast in liquid form”

Bell's order is the Bacon and Cheese Katsu

Bacon and Cheese Katsu (295 php) is a thick slice of bacon with cheese with sweet wasabi, I think this will be good with rice but this is a ramen house so no rice for you XD

Light Tonkutsu Ramen for me

I got the Tonkutsu Light (290php) a less heavy version of their Tonkutsu rich, if you do not want to feel too full this is the ramen for you.

There are a few things I want to try the next time I go back to Wrong ramen, one is the the FU ramen and the other is the Poop of the gods (135php), that’s their special dessert. It’s Belgian Chocolate on top of sea salt and olive oil
More information on the link below

Here is that the the interior of the place
funny decor

blurry Rest Room sign

2nd floor

Just a few blocks away, in Net Lima you will find Farmacy, No it is not a drug store. It’s an Ice cream and soda fountain shop. Although the place is set up based on old school pharmacies like the 50’s with brown cabinets that as beakers and flasks. Check it out

If there was less lighting it feel steam punk-ish
the menu

They a have total of 20 flavors of ice cream and 8 sorbets. You can taste test all 28 flavors if you want to just don’t try it and leave XD

Don't for get dispose of you dirty spoon

We all had banana splits. The fun part is that we can customize the ice cream! Sherome and I shared the banana split the Ice cream we had in it was verve coffee, lemon custard with blueberry and my choice of candied bacon.

yes that block you see the is the candied bacon

this will welcome you
This is not about the food is was more of the company I was with XD

A colorful world: Vocaloid Matryoshka

So after the Location hunt last July 14, we finally got to have the photo shoot. Sadly only three of the original nine cosplayers were able to come: due to various reasons. It was still fun, and in my experience with photo shoot this one is the shortest I have ever been to. Hehe and the hottest on too.

I cosplayed as  Gakupo, my partner Sherome was Kaito and our friend was Luka. We did the Matryoshka version. Please see the video below.

As you can see in the video the people are in jackets and there are wear thick gloves. This would fine if we were in Japan or in the USA. But as you all know I’m from the Philippines and the shoot was at 2 pm in the afternoon and the sky was super clear. This was the first time I have ever seen make up actually melting.

I was a great experience still. Well this was first time that I organize this and honestly I think I failed this big time. The set time was wrong; we did not get the place to ourselves there were people playing basket ball on one side. I wish I will do better next time.

I took only few BTS photos is was hart with my gloves on. I do have a proper photo of our Kaito

I can’t wait to see the photos from the photographers

White Day in Advance

You have read my post about Valentine’s Day Japanese style. Last Saturday me and the crazy people of POS, celebrated White day in advance, white day is celebrated every March 14. This is the time where the boys are the ones who give out chocolates.
I was at the meeting place by 3 pm in Philippine time, I was early because as I have said in this post

I will be giving chocolates for the girls too. I had to pick up the chocolate cake balls I bought from a Yani Cakes, read more about them in this post

I had so much Japanese food that day. Me and my partner ate at Tempura for lunch and dinner was at Oki Oki. It was all fun, the fireworks and the free ice cream for someone pretend birthday, you know we love you Bell right?

I enjoyed the fireworks, as I saw colors that is not usually use like pale orange, purple and green. Also I got this

Ej's Gift

Someone gave me something last Saturday that made me hyper. Thanks to Ej I have something to add to my collection of Jack Skellington as seen in my post Jacks Everywhere

I am not meticulous about what goes to my collection as long as I see Jack I am fine with that it does not matter where you got it as long as it is not stolen. I was told this was brought from a thrift shop. It is a cap with Jack and Boggie man

The moment it was given to me, I wore and only removed it during dinner and while I was on my way home. Until now I still do not know if I want to use it every day or just hide it like the rest of my collection.

Either way I am super happy it was given to me. One of the best White day gift to me
