Free ride, road safety and rainbows

So yesterday, I was with my partner and we when to the Safety and Security with Responsible Riding Seminar at Diego Mojica Memorial School, General Trias, Cavite with Club SZ-R PH NCRSS and Motorcycle Rights Organization (Cavite/South). You must be wondering how we got to the venue…
How else we rode a motorcycle!

Do you see me?

Here is what happened from McDo Macapagal, we meet up with the Club SZ-R PH NCRSS, they are a group guys that rides the Yamaha SZ-R. Around I think 6:30 we left for McDoms. Check out the route below. I just hope it’s accurate.

From MCdo Macapagal to Mcdom

before the take off from Mcdo Macapagal

Then at McDoms we merged with the people from Motorcycle Rights Organization (Cavite/South), and then it was another hour or so to Diego Mojica Memorial School, General Trias, Cavite. It was fun being on the road to a new place with other riders. Here is the route.

look at all those bike

After the registration we basically waited for the seminar to start. The seminar is for you to learn, it's a 100 php and if you want to have an id proving you are a member you just have to fill out the form, give you photo and add 150php. The seminar was about road safety, they are the basic but most of the time forgotten. This is now the only seminar they have another was being done in Silang according to the organizer.

There are a few things I have learned from the convoy and the seminar

Gear up – means it’s time to get ready we are about to “take off”. Start wearing your helmets, jackets, vest and gloves

Take off - Time to ride

There is one or two riders that will help in keep the line orderly,They also the ones checking if all is still with the group. They block traffic if needed

Hand and foot signs are important! (I wish I could have taken photos of them). Here are some and there meaning.

  • Thumb up – is not a like. It is to tell that you can counter flow
  • Over head pointing right or left – is telling you that the pack is turning eight or left
  • If you are beside a rider and you see that they are letting you pass – you better do it as you might be being left behind if you do not know the route you better follow
  • Extending you foot – this is to point out if there pothole
  • The number 1 sign – this is to have the pack in a single file
  • \m/ - is to have the in two lines (making this sign and flip it will tell the group that they can switch places with the rider beside them)

Always check you motorcycle before riding it B.L.O.W.B.A.G I think still applies to motorcycles

B- Battery
L- Lights
O- Oil
W- Water
B- Brakes
A- Air
G- Gas

When you are about to go for a ride make sure that you ride from the left side (I fail to understand why too sleepy)

Here are some of the photos we took

Surprise inspection! XD

Thanks for accommodating me MRO Cavite

All of these things make me want a motorcycle for myself. Maybe in the future after I get my insurance back and a driver’s license. It's not that complete but I hope this helps.

This day turn out pretty well maybe it was because of the double rainbow

How to Start Reinventing yourself for a New World

This Dango is wondering...

Have you ever felt like you need a change but you can’t as you are too comfortable with what you are doing now? Also there is that need to upgrade what you know and you have to admit (or at least I have too) studying is something you do not want to go thought again; well I’m talking about going to school and all.

So what can you reinvent yourself without going back to the whole grading system, you ask? Self study of course. The internet is filled with self study trick depending on what you want do next in life. Go for the basic like knowing basic for a particular application on your computer.
Microsoft’s Office is a basic tool used in office of obvious reasons. Sure you know how to you Word is the basic, it helps you create contents like this one, PowerPoint help you make pretty slide shows that can be make to video in a more advance stage. But have you heard about Vlookup? This one is for you Excel worksheet and I personally find this article helpful:

This article will be really useful if you want to enhance your admin support side as most of the time you will have to deal with Excel, whether you like it or not you will learn to love Excel. Thinking out loud: Do you like Bittersweet things?

the wallflower and the social butterfly

Bittersweet is an Oxymoron, a figure of speech in which two extreme words are put together to describe something.

Ever wonder why people seem to like bittersweet things or situations?

Let me tell you why, well this is this me, my observation, and my reason why I like bittersweet things or situations. One is for the thrill, let me give you a sample; kissing someone else that you like when you are in a relationship or even just the thought of it. Bitter as you know it is not right and the ‘thrill’ is the sweet part. Not knowing if it will just be a onetime thing or if you will be caught by your partner. The whole situation makes you feel alive; it’s the rush of things.

We move on to the next reason I see why people like bittersweet things, Balance. As stated in my first sentence, bittersweet is an Oxymoron. For me, you use an Oxymoron as you feel like you are in between two opposite emotions. As they say, you will never know happiness if you have not experienced sorrow or sadness. Being in a situation wherein you feel that you are happy and yet you feel pained is how some people gauge that they are still alive and at the middle point. You might say that should be neutral ground, no it is no neutral grounds as you are aware that you feel both emotions.

In short people like the feeling of being tugged from one side to the other. Guess the outcome of one’s decision and if the parties involved will do something to make you fall completely to their respected side.  We all will go through some bittersweet situation in the future or maybe you are having one now, I have an advice for you, if I was in the situation I will enjoy it and if in the end you win or lose something because of it don’t be sad it is another lesson learned after all.

Headphone Review time: Humlan by UrbanEars

I will be honest, I’m a cheapskate. I do not like buying things that I think is overprice. If I find something I like that is too expensive for me, I will look for something similar in another place. Yes, even if it means going to Divisoria for it or going for second hand items.

I just recently got new headphones; I got the Humlan by UrbanEars. The number one reason why I got it is because the foam and the headband can be washed.  I was planning on using it while I jog (Which by the way I have not yet started). I will be following the same review as the one I did for my Masterpiece Headphone.

My Masterpiece Headphone pretty much looks like the Plattan by UrbanEars (79.90 USD) the Masterpiece is priced at around 13 USD. I can basically buy all the four colors that Masterpiece has plus one more.  I bought the more expensive one to check on one thing, is it true that the more expensive it is the better quality it has or is it still how one uses the item. Please note that I basically bough 2 Masterpiece, I was able to use the first one for about 6 months and the second one for about 4 months.

More about the Humlan by UrbanEars, priced at 59 USD on the site. I got mine at 2250 Php from AstroPlus. I made sure that I got the one with the wash bag. I was told that the first batch did not have the wash bag.

Here are the things you will have:

  • The headset with mic (It has a remote but it can only pause the music or answer and drop a call)
  • The washable parts (Headband and ear foams)
  • The wash bag (which has another use)
  • A product catalog (with the specs of all the product Urbanears has)
  • A sticker (in the color of your pair)
  • It’s comfortable to use even if you wear eyeglasses (It does not cover my ear too much unlike my old pair)
  • Your music will not leak out (it does not even let you hear the music even if you place it behind your ears)
  • It has ZoundPlug, that lets you share your music with the use of another pair of ear or headphones

Other information:

Colors: Black, Citrus, Forget me not, Julep, Clover, Cobalt, Coral, Dark Grey, Indigo, Lilac, Pumpkin, Tomato, and White

Cable : around 1m covered with thread (Thin)

Food Tripping: Zark’s Burgers Taft Avenue

Zark's Burger in Burgundy Taft Avenue

Ever since the Jawbreaker promo of Zark’s in 2012, I have planned to go and eat there as I have heard that their burgers can kill you as it’s really good. The problem before is I was still studying the budget was limited. I guess the talks about the price that it’s 250 plus taxes got to me and I really felt that it will be too much for one meal.

So after almost two years, I got to eat at Zark’s Burgers. Last Saturday, I and my partner finally go there. We are around 4:30 p.m, and we got in around 5 p.m. By the way, you have to get you seats reserved. If you see a line just by pass that and go to the person by the door and have your names listed.

As this was my first time there I really had a hard time in choosing what to get, even though I already checked the menu while waiting outside. We ordered the following Bacon Wrapped Burger and Jawbreaker.

The Menu

The Menu: Major League section

If you did not know, if you order Jawbreaker, you have the option to have it as a challenge or just the regular one. If you order it as a challenge, you will have to finish it in 5 minutes to get it for free. If you go for the challenge apparently the fries serving will be a lot more than the one on the regular serving.  You can do the same for the tombstone, finish it in 10 minutes and you get it for free. Oh it comes with unlimited Iced tea.

My Partner with his Jawbreaker

Zark's Jawbreaker is a burger with 3 burger patties, topped with spam
you have cheese in between the patties and veggies at the bottom
with fries on the side
I got the Bacon Wrapped Burger, it took a while to before it was delivered to our table but it was worth the wait. If you love bacon and burgers this is the right burger for you, but you better be ready as it’s all me can have you full in no time. (Yes I did not finish it. I just ate half XD)

Me and  Deep Fried Bacon Wrapped Burger
 XD

Bacon Wrapped Burger
It comes with barbecue sauce

Deep Fried Bacon Wrapped Burger with barbecue sauce and fries
(I think it was a 1/2 pound patty in there)

Now, about the place, the have moved from Archer's Nook to Burgundy Taft Avenue. The place has a theme,Vintage and Sports. We saw a lot of photos about basketball and vintage style poster of a soda company. There is one thing I felt off about the place, they have too many people and yet, we felt like the service was slow or maybe they are just to busy as there are a lot of people waiting and dinning.

I like this place and we will come back for the deep fried snickers. Friends you have to come with me next time!

Me and Styling: Dressing up for work

I started this on Tumblr as I knew I’m not smexy enough for Lookbook.

Please excuse my attempt to look pretty XD

I believe in dress in up but it does not have to kill one’s wallet. Most of the time I wear jeans and t-shirts and when I do dress up, it’s for work or for an event where I have to dress up. I have my style though and even it’s for work I make sure that I do not look like I copied what I wear from the magazines. I have never been in a work place that requires me to be in business/formal attire, so I still can go to work in dark colored jeans or a dress that is not commonly use for work see the photos below

Gray sheer blouse, washed out jeans and gray boots

Black dress with floral prints and gray boots

So I recently bought new pats from Uniqlo, is called Ultra Stretch Skinny Fit Cargo Pants. I got the olive colored one. I have used it for work already; I forgot to take a photo. I like it as I can use for work and I can use it for causal day outs. I got it on sale hahaha I hope the price goes down again I’m thinking of getting the dark gray one too.

I like the fact that it feels military like
You must be wondering, "What the point of this post?". Th point is no matter how expensive the clothes you are wearing if you are not confident that it look AWESOME on YOU it will never look as pretty as you want it to be.

The Great Gastby and so much more

There have been a number of movies that has gotten their share of remakes. I was just recently I found out that the movie “The Great Gastby” that was released last year 2013 was a remake of a movie made in 1974 with the same title.

I have written something about this before but it was based all in the 2013 film, but I can find it now.  So I did research more after the movie this time.  It was based on the novel of F. Scott Fitzgerald published in 1925. It was a story about a person hopping that her can have his old life back, being in love and loved by the girl he felt married too. This is my observation from the two movies. I’m on the hunt for the book now.

If you have not watched this movie I suggest you start with the 1974 one, there are similarities but the way it was told was different. One is more on the narration of Nick and other did not follow anyone’s point of view. I really have to read the book first before I say which one is more faithful to the book.

One thing is sure though, now and then when it comes to love both the rich and the poor can never have what they want without sacrificing so much.

This the reason why I found out that The Great Gatsby is originally a 1974 film*

Food Tripping: Wai Ying in Binondo

I am fan of food obviously with the body size XD

So this will be a post about the Chinese cuisine restaurant called Wai Ying. I was introduced to this place around 2010 by our photographer friends after our Vampire knights Cosplay shoot. Last July 14 I got to go back and eat there again. I have been planning to go back but I did not want to go alone so after we checked the location for the Vocaloid photoshoot, we when to Wai Ying.

Welcome to China Town

Located at Benavidez Street in Binondo, Wai Ying is a two-floor restaurant. There are more seats in the second floor as the ground floor is mostly the kitchen area and it’s warm since you are near all the cooking area.

Left to Right: Kim, Ate Aya, Me and Sherome

So let’s talk about the food… *damn I feeling hungry again because of this*
What I remember is the first time I was there they ran out of Lemon Chicken rice which is I think their best seller. So now that is what I have ordered.

Lemon Chicken is basically crispy fried chicken with soy lemon sauce
Ate Aya orders Soy Chicken:

Soy Chicken is steamed chicken in brown sauce
and is accompanied by I think sauteed green onions
Sherome got Curry Rice

Curry Rice
Kim got Roast Spareribs I think… *I can’t remember and I don't have a photo of it*

Have you ever been to Wai Ying or if you do know another place that has Chinese cuisine that you might want to share?
