Food Tripping: Wai Ying in Binondo

I am fan of food obviously with the body size XD

So this will be a post about the Chinese cuisine restaurant called Wai Ying. I was introduced to this place around 2010 by our photographer friends after our Vampire knights Cosplay shoot. Last July 14 I got to go back and eat there again. I have been planning to go back but I did not want to go alone so after we checked the location for the Vocaloid photoshoot, we when to Wai Ying.

Welcome to China Town

Located at Benavidez Street in Binondo, Wai Ying is a two-floor restaurant. There are more seats in the second floor as the ground floor is mostly the kitchen area and it’s warm since you are near all the cooking area.

Left to Right: Kim, Ate Aya, Me and Sherome

So let’s talk about the food… *damn I feeling hungry again because of this*
What I remember is the first time I was there they ran out of Lemon Chicken rice which is I think their best seller. So now that is what I have ordered.

Lemon Chicken is basically crispy fried chicken with soy lemon sauce
Ate Aya orders Soy Chicken:

Soy Chicken is steamed chicken in brown sauce
and is accompanied by I think sauteed green onions
Sherome got Curry Rice

Curry Rice
Kim got Roast Spareribs I think… *I can’t remember and I don't have a photo of it*

Have you ever been to Wai Ying or if you do know another place that has Chinese cuisine that you might want to share?

A colorful world: Vocaloid Matryoshka

So after the Location hunt last July 14, we finally got to have the photo shoot. Sadly only three of the original nine cosplayers were able to come: due to various reasons. It was still fun, and in my experience with photo shoot this one is the shortest I have ever been to. Hehe and the hottest on too.

I cosplayed as  Gakupo, my partner Sherome was Kaito and our friend was Luka. We did the Matryoshka version. Please see the video below.

As you can see in the video the people are in jackets and there are wear thick gloves. This would fine if we were in Japan or in the USA. But as you all know I’m from the Philippines and the shoot was at 2 pm in the afternoon and the sky was super clear. This was the first time I have ever seen make up actually melting.

I was a great experience still. Well this was first time that I organize this and honestly I think I failed this big time. The set time was wrong; we did not get the place to ourselves there were people playing basket ball on one side. I wish I will do better next time.

I took only few BTS photos is was hart with my gloves on. I do have a proper photo of our Kaito

I can’t wait to see the photos from the photographers

Location hunt: Graffiti Wall, Intramuros

So on July 27, me and my friends are going for a cosplay shoot and that will most like likely the next thing I will be posting here.

So we were looking for a location that is secure and has graffiti on the walls. I was initially looking at the look building near Betty Go LRT station. However I was told that is has been demolished. So I went looking online for places with walls that ha graffiti, I found two one is The Collective and the other one is Graffiti Wall Skate Park, Intramuros.

So last Sunday me, Azuma, Ate Aya and Eiri went and checked Graffiti Wall Skate Park, Intramuros. Located in Anda Street corner Arzobispo Street. Here is how you get there, from Manila City Hall use the under pass to go to the other side, warning if you have food be ready to defend it from kids that will snatch it from you. Once you are on the other side, look for a Jeep with the sign Intramuros, If you don’t see one go as the people there, on which jeep with pass by Manila Cathedral. Once you are in front of Manila Cathedral, walk along Gen Luna street (right side of Manila Cathedral ), until you get to Anda street then turn to your right. You will it before you get to the next block. It has a bamboo fence.

Look for me

The gate was locked when we got there, we asked the kids that was playing. So there told us that we have to talk to the Officials of Barangay 655 to be able to get in and use the place. The Barangay hall was three blocks away from the Graffiti wall. When we got there, there were no officials just the secretary we guessed. She told us to come back during the weekdays to talk to the officials.

The one good thing about this is that we can have the place to ourselves on July 27. I have to go back there with the letter that we want to have a photo shoot in that area.
