Food Tripping: Swagat Indian Cuisine

There are a lot of restaurants along Rada Street, Makati. From Peruvian, Filipino to Indian. Swagat is located at 119 FCC Building, Rada Street Legaspi Village, Makati City ans is open from 11 am to 11 pm, Mondays to Sundays.

This is my first time to try Indian Cuisine. I was kinda scared that everything will be super spicy. Sherome was in charge of ordering after all, he knows more that I do. We got, Baigan Masala, Mutton Curry in Mild spiciness, buttered rice. As for our drinks, Sherome got sweet lassi and I got the rose lassi. We did try the Rose Soda too. 

The inside of Swagat is we decorated, I have not been to India but this place made me feel like I was in a restaurant in India. The music playing on their sound system was Indian and the crew was wearing what I think was a traditional attire in India.

On to the food! I love the fact that I did not feel that I was eating goat meat. I have been hearing that it is "Malansa" but with this one it felt like I was eating beef it did not feel weird at all, plus the spiciness is just right. I love the Baigan Masala it was a great match with the buttered rice. Lassi is a sweetened yogurt drink that is just right to counter the spiciness of the food. The rose soda tasted like lychee to me but it was great!

DIY: Galaxy Shoes!

All you need are some markers, alcohol, and white acrylic paint or correction pen (this was the one I used.) Glitter glue works too!
We got your shoes from a local department store. It was priced at 2 for 499. The brand was called Kicks, but I can't seem to find more info online. Here is what it looked like before we colored it. (I just got the photo online. I lost the raw photos, my phone died.)

The instructions in the video were easy to follow, you don't have to be an artist to create the design on your shoes. You can color the shoes using permanent markers, highlighters or normal coloring pens. It is best to have black, blue, pink, yellow, gray and purple ready. How you color the shoe matters, but you must not color block. Spaces are needed for the design to look like you have a few galaxies on your feet.
Once you are happy with your base color, you can start using rubbing alcohol to spread the colors! You can still add more colors if you want too. Let it dry before adding the "stars."

How was 2016?

A year-end report that is somewhat late. How were the first few days of the year? Does it feel like a new year or just a continuation of the previous year?

2016, I'm not sure how to feel about this year. There has been a lot that has happened, from the elections in the Philippines, deaths of well-known artists, territorial disputes, the war and the US elections. This year for me was either mediocre or extreme. So, yes I think 2016 was normal.

There are a few groundbreaking points in 2016 for me. One was when the team at work was divided to two, my travel to Bacolod, the Jmusic concerts I got to watch for free and turning one year at my current workplace, coloring all of my hair in crazy shades. Bought a waterproof cam, new phone (that sad is in repair after 2 weeks of use), I got to try new hair dye and makeup brands. I got to blog a little more. Will need to do more this year though and try to promote the blog. 

Aside from that, I think all was normal. Hopefully, this year can be a little bit more out there, like more adventure and travel. Planning to blog full time and save money!

No one knows what will happen this year... I will just enjoy or bear with it when something happens!

Silventures: Puerto Galera 2015

Yes, this is super late! I honestly though I have made a blog about this last year.

This trip was organized by the birthday girls Aya and Bell. They when to Singapore this year, did not have enough for that one. Maybe in the next adventure, I can join again. :)


Last year, today POS was in White Beach, Puerto Galera!

Warning: This is not a guide but just a recollection of how we got there.


We rode a bus from Cubao to Batangas Port. Travel time was about 2 hours or so, the fare was 175 Php. Make sure that you have an idea of what ferry to ride to Mindoro. Our hotel gave our names to a ferry service they preferred, which was Minolo Shipping Lines. Once you are at the Port of Batangas and you have the name of your ferry, as much as possible, don't talk to anyone even if they say that they are a porter from the same ferry company. Having your things carried for you will entail an extra cost. The fare from the port to White Beach is 175 one way and 250 for round trip tickets.

After alighting from the ferry, There was free shutter to your hotel. We stayed at Rem's Virgin Island Hotel. I like that place it was a few minutes walk to the beach front, which was perfect coz it was noisy at the beach front at night. Also, the room for 6 people is big enough for more than 6 people. One of the rooms we rented as a kitchen sink and cabinets.

Things to do while you are in Puerto Galera:

1. Enjoy the beach

It is the main reason why you are in Puerto after all! There is more that one beach you can visit. Go island hopping for more awesome views!

2. Watch people dance with fire

On our first night, we decided to take a walk along the shoreline. There were so many establishments there and each as their own way to get the attentions of the tourist. We even show one bar with pole dancers.

3. Look for crabs at night

Once you passed the shops you will be able to enjoy some quite time. It was dark, though, so make sure that you bring a flashlight if you want to look for some shells, stones, and random crabs!

4. Feed fishes

Aside from hopping between 3 island, you get to feed schools of fishes.

5. Enjoy good Pizza

Awesome food is awesome! I want more! These pizzas were bought from Arcobaleno Pizzeria. If you are going to the port for island hopping, you won't miss it. Also, it is recommended by the locals.

6. Enjoy the company of crazy people

Hey! As much as I want to travel solo! It is still more fun with friends!
